Have Metta Will Travel Part 2

Posted by

We visited 14 monasteries/temples in 4 days.  We met the Abbots, their assistants or the office managers, shared and requested that they joined our project as well as put up our  posters on their notice boards.

Most are very enthusiastic and supportive, saying the Metta Round The World initiative was very timely.

All except one agreed to display our posted. The 13 monasteries/temples (in order of visits) were:  Tegar Monastery, Mahabodhi Meditation Centre, Nyingma Center, Beru Khyentse’s Tibetan Monastery, Daijokyo Buddhist Temple, Thai Temple, Bangladeshi Temple, Bhutanese Temple, Mahabodhi  Temple Management Office, Chinese (Taiwanese) Temple, Vietnamese Temple, Asian Buddhist Culture Centre  and Mahabodhi Society Office.

At Mahabodhi Meditation Centre, we met the Chief Monk, Venerable V. U. Sandamuni who is a member of the International Buddhist Council. He said  he will share this initiative with the rest of the council members.

At the Thai temple, the Assistant Chief, Venerable Phramaha Nipon Yanaviro Prasandee who is born on Tuesday advised that Metta Sutta is chanted every Tuesday at the Thai Temple as it is the sutta for Tuesday-born.

Blessing for MRTW

We are also very fortunate to meet 3 Rinpoches during our monasteries/temples hopping!  Took the opportunity to request for blessing for MRTW from  Beru Khyentse Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Yangsi Rinpoche and Dudjom Rinpoche.
