During our Tuesday Metta Circle on 25 March 2013, after our chanting and metta meditation, we dedicated our merits for the well being of the relatives and friends of MH370 and also transference of merits to the passengers and crews of MH370.

We then had a discussion session on “What is the dhamma lesson from the MH370 incident?”.

Some on the discussion points:

  • Life is uncertain, death is certain
  • Unable to let-go, clinging and attachment
  • All the emotions that may arise when face with death in such a situation: anger, hatred, sad, depress, fear
  • Need to practice now so that we will have the calmness of mind in such a situation
