Importance of Metta in health care

Posted by

Students at the Australian college of Applied psychology (ACAP – Sydney campus) discussed the importance of applying kindness to their work with clients at health practices when they gathered for their second Metta Circle last week. One student who is in residence training stated that health practitioners must work with their clients with kindness in order to deliver better service. Loving kindness or Metta has now become a common concept in psychological practices in Australia where Kindness Based Meditation is applied in therapy as evidence based practice.  ACAP is currently conducting a research on ‘mindfulness and self-compassion in overcoming adversity’.
